Ronald P. Kalyan, Jr. has significant experience in transactional real estate matters and routinely represents clients with the structuring, documentation, financing, and negotiation of commercial and residential transactions, including purchases/sales, leases and workouts. Additionally, Ron's prior work experience as a land use planner and zoning officer enables him to represent the firm's clients effectively before local authorities in matters of zoning relief and subdivision and land development approval. Ron's practice also includes general real estate matters such as easements, title and boundary disputes, and real estate tax assessment appeals. Ron has also represented public entities such as counties, townships, boroughs, and school districts in various transactional and land use matters, including large-scale development projects. He also has experience with communication tower construction and development, as well as Marcellus Shale leasing and related real estate matters.

As part of his overall practice, Ron provides general business counseling to the Firm's clients, including the formation of real estate holding companies (limited partnerships and limited liability companies), corporate governance and finance, as well as mergers/acquisitions and general employment issues (employment and severance agreements, non-disclosure agreements, restrictive covenants, employee handbooks, etc.). He also regularly represents commercial lenders in various loan transactions, including construction, permanent and line of credit financings, as well as loan restructuring and workouts.

Ron earned his law degree in 1995 from the Pennsylvania State University/Dickinson School of Law, where he was the school's Sidney D. Kline Memorial Scholar, an Editor of The Dickinson Law Review and a Member of The Woolsack Honor Society. His article on regulation of bring your own bottle establishments was published in Fall 1994 and has since been cited as authority in several Pennsylvania appellate court decisions. Ron graduated from Columbia University in 1990, with a B.A in Urban Studies. While at Columbia, he was a Dean's List student, an Astor Memorial Scholarship recipient, a member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, and a four year starting wide receiver on the varsity football team.

Ron is a member of various legal and civic organizations, including the Pennsylvania and Cumberland County Bar Associations. He is also an active member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church (Mohnton, PA).

Prior to joining the Firm, Ron started his career as an attorney with Stevens & Lee, PC (Reading PA), and later served as a partner at the law firms of Fox Rothschild LLP (Exton, PA) and, most recently, Salzmann Hughes, PC (Carlisle, PA).
